Google is rolling out an iOS app called Meta App to make it easier for developers to use its popular Google Maps-powered Maps app.
The company says the app can provide users with “real-time information about your location, traffic, and the weather”, including weather forecasts and traffic conditions.
“If you’re looking to add a new destination to your location history, you can create a map that shows traffic conditions and road conditions for a specific route,” Google said in a blog post.
“You can also add weather information and share that with others by simply dragging and dropping them into the ‘weather’ section of the app.”
The app also allows you to share your location with others, as well as create maps for other places you’ve recently visited.
“Users can now also search for a destination and add the app to their phone by going to the Google Maps home page.
Google said the app will initially be available for iOS and Android, and that it plans to bring the app onto the Apple Store and the Google Play Store in the future.
